given two points, (5,2) and (5,6),
FIRST find the SLOPE, m.
m = (2+6)/(55) = 8/10 = 4/5
now use pointslope form:
y  2 = (4/5)(x + 5)
simplify to point slope form:
y = (4/5)x + 4 + 2
y = (4/5)x  2

Point 1
(5, 2)
Point 2
(5, 6)
First find the slope
m = rise/run
m = (y₂  y₁) / (x₂  x₁)
m = (6  2) / (5  5)
m = 8 / 10
m = 4/5

Plug in one of the points (5, 2) and m = 4/5
into slope intercept form to find "b"
y = mx + b
2 = (4/5)(5) + b
2 = 4 + b
b = 2

using m = 4/5 and b = 2 the equation becomes
y = (4/5)x  2 <––––––
