They are similar to each other. The area of the largest triangle
equals the area of the two inner triangles.

The sum of the 3 triangles total that of a quad. Think about it like this the points of a triangle drawn on a map will show places where people were born raised and passed away. For example for me in west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some bball outside of the school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'.
I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought 'Nah, forget it' 'Yo, homes to Bel Air'
I pulled up to the house about seven or eigth
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

All the triangle are similar but you need to associate the
correct angles.
To be similar, all you need is all angles being equal
both triangles
triangle RPQ is similar to RSP is similar to PSQ
ΔRPQ ~ ΔRSP ~ ΔPSQ
Big triangle RPQ
has right angle <RPQ
smaller triangles have right angles <PSR and <PSQ
Big triangle RPQ has <RPQ and <RQP = 90 <RPQ
Little triangle PSQ has and <SQP =<RQP (they are the same angle)
and complementary angle <SPS = 90 <SQP
but <SQP and <RPQ are the same
<SPS = 90 < RQP
<SPS = <RQP
so now triangle RPQ is similar to PSQ
LIttle triangle has PSR has
<SRP which is the same angles <PRQ
and complementary angle
<SPR = 90 <SRP
and since <SRP is <QRP
<SPR = 90 <RPQ = <RQP
again 3 angles are the same
QPR is similar to PSR
but you know
if A is similar to B
and A is similar to C
then B is similar to C
so all 3 triangles are similar.

all three are right triangles
how you know: the red squares tell you that SRP and QRP are right triangles
the fact that QR is a line segment
and rSp is a right angle
tell you that qSp is also a right triangle
