Given that the Imperial Gallon is no longer used, I will assume the US gallon.
0.25 l/min * 60 min/hr * 0.2641721 usgal/l = 3.962581 US gallon/hr

0.25 litres/min => 0.25 x 60 litres/hour
i.e. 15 litres/hour
Now, 1 US gallon is 3.78541 litres
so, 15/3.78541 => 3.96 gallons/hour
or, 1 UK gallon is 4.54609 litres
so, 15/4.54609 => 3.30 gallons/hour

1 gallon is 3.785 liters, so it would take 15.14 minutes to leak a gallon, so... I’m not gonna do the rest actually but hopefully this helps. It’s just under 4 gallons you’d probably be right to say 3.9 I think.

There are 60 minutes in an hour. So 60x .25=15 litres. There are 33.8 ounces in a litre and 128 in a gallon so 15x33.8=507 ounces/128=3.9 gallons.
