If we assume the theatre was full A+C = 500
C = 500A
43A+28(500A) = 16,805

16,805 = total proceeds
16,805 = 43x + 28y
...I think.
I stand corrected, guy above me is right; assuming that all seats sold:
16,805 = 43x + 28(500  x) would be the correct answer.
this is because x is the number who of adults who bought a ticket so 500x would be the children.
