Why would God have a personal relationship with me considering how insignificant I am in comparison with all people that existed & exists?

1 John 4:8,16 tells us that, “ God is love”. A loving father wants a relationship with his children.

Insignificant? Who told you that fib? Your spirit is one of God's children, and he loves you as much as he loves anybody. He only loves Christ more than he loves you.

A good parent wants to have a good personal relationship with every one of their beloved children. God is the perfect Father. He loves you just as much as He loves every other human being on Earth. He loves you enough to die for you, which He did 2,000 years ago.

That's supposed to be one of the selling points of the Christian religion.
Even though you are completely insignificant, meaningless, disgusting, pathetic, 'sinful', and 'like dirty rags', the almighty creator of the universe is willing to deem to be associated with you.
You may recognize this as the same tactic used by an abusive partner to convince their victim that they don't deserve any better, can't leave because nobody else would have them, and that 'I only hit you because I love you'.
It's also the same tactic employed by 'pickup artists' to try to break down a woman's self-esteem to convince her to sleep with him. It is a technique known as 'negging', where the man focuses on any (real or imagined) shortcoming in the woman's looks, personality, body, etc. to take her down a notch or two.

. . . in comparison with all people that existed AND EXIST?
Because that is his will and his pleasure.

Because that's why God made you, in order to have fellowship with you - that's why. It's not unreasonable if you think about it - He is our heavenly Father. How do you think He feels when we totally ignore him our whole lifetime? How would you feel in those circumstances?
Don't you realize that God loved you so much that He came to earth in the form of human flesh (John 1:14) so you could see Him as a man and relate to Him, and so that we, in our sinful states, could be forgiven of our sins, because God died for us on the Cross,
That was done in order that we would not have to pay the punishment for our own sins, but God who is sinless, would be the spotless Lamb and take our punishment on our behalf.
We all ought to be grateful and spend our lives loving Him and serving Him because we owe Him everything.

Because God is Love, he has mercy on those who seek him, repentant of their sins!
God reveals Himself exclusively to all those who constantly pray to Him.

Every single human either relates to God on Heaven's throne, or they do not. Those who refuse to bend their knee to God as sovereign do not relate to God at all, and that will remain their state for eternity. God will keep them out because they do not want to enter in, nor can they, until they have been forgiven all their sins by God. If you know yourself to be a sinner before a holy, righteous God and approach His throne in Heaven in prayer, through Jesus (who mediates for sinners so that they CAN draw close to God in faith) then you will begin to relate to God in a saving way. That is the requirement for every single human.
It has absolutely nothing to do with being viewed as "a significant person" by other persons. The poorest, most apparently insignificant soul on Earth is just as precious to God as any others who humble themselves before His throne. Stop thinking in terms of how other people view you (which gives you a false view of yourself) and realize that Christ died to save ALL who would put faith in Him.
The Father relates to all who love and obey His Son, Jesus Christ. Read John chapter 14 to be assured of that.Source(s): John's gospel chapter 14 -all of it

God is inside of you. You just have to connect.
