Costs are lower when sharing with multiple people.

However try living in the same premises with more than one additional person and things can get complicated. That's just extra people at hand, to all infuriate each other over minor issues.

You'll also find, the more people involved in splitting rent and utilities, the greater chance someone will constantly try to skimp on paying their way.

Food is also a sore point.

When living with one other person, if food is missing from your side of the refrigerator, then you know who is responsible. With multiple people involved it can be difficult to determine.

First of all, at least one roommate could explain to you that this is a question for the Renting & Real Estate section.

If you're doing equal rent splits, then with one roomie, you'd have to pay 50% of the rent and utilities, with two, each drops to 33.3%. Etc.
