Please learn to write these correctly

either use superscript ² for the exponents or use ^

y = x^2

y = (x - 8)^2 + 17

These are both the same graph, but the 2nd function has been translated in both the horizontal and vertical axes

for every point of the first add +8 to x and + 17 to y

y = (x - 8)^2 + 17 is y = x^2 shifted 8 units to the right and 17 units up.
