there are some "cures" being explored, kinda like Tamaflu for the flu. They aren't fully tested yet

Vaccine is necessary for preventing covid as the vaccine contains all the antibodies required for preventing the virus to spread and at the same time it is the long term cure while other precautions are short term.

A true cure would probably take a century or longer. By then, everyone would be dead because of the mutations.

Dexamethasone is an effective treatment and the closest thing to an actual cure. Even a 100% cure would only be a marginal improvement over that.

Well considering the statistic is in the western world 1in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime & they've been desperately been searching for a total prevention & cure for that for over 70 yrs...Then that should give you a bit of a clue ,Covid is a new strain of the SARS virus & like every scientific breakthrough it will take time to completely eradicate it.

The speed they've got the vaccines out in the community is unprecedented in its amazing speed ,my country the UK we have basically been the human testers to get it out safely to the rest of the world .Maybe time to thank the health services across the world & the scientists who are trying to stop us being another victim of C ovid 19:rather than criticising them .

People are already complaining that the vaccine development was way too fast.

To find a cure would take longer and that means you will still catch it and you need to rely on treatment!

How long do you want to live a restricted life?

Even if you enjoy this, there are millions of people who already lost a lot so just be happy with this and go, vaccinate yourself!

Because it is a VIRUS.  There is no cure for a virus.  It has to run its course.

I think the best cure so far is antibody treatments. That's what saved Trump's life. He was in bad shape.

Who says they're not trying? Better to get Not get sick at all. And there are some treatment now.

But your best medical bang-for-the-buck is to prevent a disease. Rather then everybody taking time off work, school etc.

Because with a vaccine, you DON'T have 300 million people all getting sick and needing a 'cure'.

    Duh.
