Should the filibuster be done away with?

Why or why not?

It should be abolished because the concept behind why the filibuster exists, that the Senate should be the forum for unlimited debate on an issue, is no longer relevant.  Lawmakers know before they step into their respective chambers how they will vote on a given issue, and unlimited debate is no longer relevant.

Absolutely, the filibuster was a disgrace before it became weaponized.  It allows the majority cry obstruction and the minority to cry tyranny of the majority.  Both sides use it to hide their policy failures behind.

Ted Cruz filibusters by reading  Dr. Seuss books?

I don't have a problem with Dr. Seuss books but I do have a problem with Ted Cruz.

The jerk ran to Cancun and left us freezing our butts off in Texas, then threw his children under the bus by blaming them.

Yes, do away with the filibuster.  If they don't have something constructive to say, they need to sit their butts down and stop wasting time at the taxpayers expense.

Filibuster should be curbed with brakes added.

    Yes.  It's undemocratic.

In fact, so is the Senate. 2 Senators from each state?

I hope the Democrats have the same zeal for removal of the filibuster in 2024 after the GOP sweeps the elections. We're going to have a ton of work to do to clean up this mess.
