I read an article in Pro Football Talk that said Jimmy G. was worse than Cam Newton, and now there is an article that says New England ?
wants to trade for Jimmy G. It does not add up. Are people who said that Jimmy G was a bad quarterback lying through their teeth? If he is a good one, then why would Frisco trade him to New England. Nothing makes sense in the sports media nowadays.

Articles like the Garoppolo one are opinions of the authors. It's not uncommon to have conflicting opinions/reports.

Jimmy G can likely be acquired CHEAP. Belichick is hoping he can maximize what he can get out of him because he's already played in Belichick's system.
But Garopolo is a very mediocre QB who can't stay healthy. It will only go marginally better than Newton went.

Belichick turned out to be right again by not trading Brady and instead getting rid of Jimmy G.
Garappolo has a bad contract,is trade bait and Brady has won 2 more Superbowl rings.

Jimmy G is constantly injured and Cam Newton is old and broken and no one wants either of them, don't believe any sports news till it happens.
...But both of these things could be simultaneously true, Cam could be better and the Pats could want to trade for Jimmy G. It is possible for a coach to overrate a player he worked with in the past for no other reason than because he worked with him in the past.

I'm guessing they have more than one reporter writing articles.

There were articles about Tom Brady last year telling us how washed up he was, and that going to Tampa Bay was a mistake. Just goes to show how much sports writers really know. Maybe Jimmy G does well in New England, and that he'll do better if he's used properly.

You mean different people can have different opinions? Wow. Shocking.

Bedard, that nugget comes from Bedard and has been pounced upon. On thing the last 20 years have taught us is that no one every really knows. What Belichick or the patriots are really thinking. Yet the sports media in Boston always tells us, they do.

Sports media has mostly sucked since Disney bought ESPN in 1995.
