They have high-paying jobs, and/or they make very good investments (such as real estate), and/or they inherit it from parents who did. If you set yourself up to succeed by making smart decisions when you're in high school and college, you'll likely do well.

Blue-collar workers can make $100,000 or more per year. A nurse can make $70,000+. The two working can make $140,000 or more per year. They can save and invest to build an investment portfolio of $4 million+ by the time they retire. They can live in a 5-bedroom, 3.5 bath house. I know it can be done and it is not hard to do.

They have good jobs and secure jobs. They don't job hop and they generally have at least 6 years post high school education.

Most started planning very early in life, got good educations, good jobs, worked hard, saved and invested wisely.
