If the age of consent is 17 in New York that means I can have sex with any adult of any age that I want ?

If you’re 17, no adult will get in trouble just for having sex with you. There are some things you can’t legally do until you’re 18 though. You’re still a minor when it comes to pornography. If you send nude photos to someone, they can get in trouble for possession of child porn. Technically you would be guilty of creating, possessing, and distributing child porn too, but it’s unlikely that a DA would file charges against you for having your own nude photos. I don’t recommend it at any age, but definitely don’t take any nude pics or videos while you’re still 17. Anyone who has them would be committing a pretty serious crime. It doesn’t make too much sense. You are too old to be a victim of statutory rape, but too young to record it.

No, it would still be illegal for an adult to have sex with YOU for several more years. It is still illegal to have sex with someone that doesn't consent.

No, nothing has changed since the last time you asked this. Also, it's NEVER going to be about you having sex with anyone you want. It's either going to be rape OR you need to find a willing partner.

No it means that all people 17 and above are legally able to give consent (when sober) to have sex and all people 16 and younger cannot, even if they are willing.

No, not all of them want to have sex with you.

assuming you are 17 and of normal mental capacity -- that would be the implication, yes. of course, if you still live in your mother's house and she disapproves, you risk being thrown out.

If you are 17, yes.

You *can* but state law may include the detail that someone in authority over you (teacher, supervisor at work) may be guilty of sexual harassment or some kind of intimidation to participate.
Fun fact: Even though Monica Lewinski was a willing participant with President Clinton in sexual matters, owing to her working under him (pun entirely intended) the relationship still met the definition of sexual harassment. It's worth noting that other staff at the White House at the time knew of the relationship, and were actively working to keep the two physically separated so it wouldn't become the debacle it did.

That is correct. Most states are 16,17 or 18, and NY is 17.

Not if they don't consent , have the capacity to consent , or are dead .
