It's great. Many graduate school departments you HAVE to get published to graduate with a Ph.D. ir at least have it accepted. Having anything published in a peer reviewed journal is great. especially if it going to be a terminal master's degree.

It depends on the paper. There's a lot of BS that gets published just to make up the numbers. I mean that's OK for the individual but lax standards and the pressure to produce more degrees means that pretty much all of academia is getting watered down.
