Your answer to the first question is not an answer.  It does not address the question, it just gives some info that really has nothing to do with the question.  It gives a what for a why question, basically.

The answer to the second question misses the point, it is not about what people do with Amerindians, the question is what happens to those people.  They suffer discrimination, isolation, and poverty, so what happens is that they still get mistreated.

I suppose the third one is an answer, and might even be correct, but it is not in keeping with the first two questions or the next one. Not really addressing what the Amerindians are.  It would be like saying African-Americans are known for their music.  Not false, but not really much to do with the history and actual conditions of the people under discussion, which is what the other questions are all about.

Your fourth answer does finally seem to get the point.  Not sure I like saying they do not deserve how blacks get mistreated, because it implies that the mistreatment of blacks is OK, but not OK for Amerindians.  If you were to say, "Indians, like black Americans, do not deserve the discrimination and mistreatment they receive", the point would be more clear.

Because Columbus thought he'd reached the East Indies.  He had no idea there was a land mass between Europe and the Indies.
