I started watching this movie one day and 10 minutes in I was mesmerized and could not move from the screen.  It was so good. :)

    Becky Sharp [1935] first technicolor

    Gone With the Wind [1939]

    Citezen Kane [1941]

Barry Lyndon [1975] all natural lighting

    Life of Brian [1981]

Now they are starting to get new. All these are classics. A few are for technical firsts.

Source(s): At 68 years old, I've seen a lot of movies. These are some of the critically acclaimed movies of the last 110 years.

There are some major classic films worthy of reviewing. QuA's list is excellent, and I would add:

    Lawrence of Arabia.

    War & Peace.

    12 Angry Men.

    Advise and Consent.

    Seven Days in May.

And, in my view, the greatest film ever made: 2001, A Space Odyssey (1968).
