Someone said that witches cultivate Mandrake, nightshade, herbs and toxins in the woods, what types of vegetation do witches grow?

    The same as normal people do in their herb gardens.

    A hag was a "witch" because they like later pharmacists they spent YEARS studying the effects of plants as curative doses.

    Curing successfully any disease was what the Christians considered a Miracle, the hoi polioi considered Magic.

    Consider that up until the 1860s a person stood a 50% or less chance of being cured by a "Doctor"

    Louis Joseph Dufilho, Jr. of New Orleans became America's first licensed pharmacist in the early 1800s and he opened the shop that is now home to the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum in 1823.
