Especially in New Mexico, Pinon Pines have had a rough experience due to climate change. According to a study conducted by the USFS Moscow Lab, the amount of suitable climate lands for Pinon Pines has decreased around fifty percent from 1961-1990. These pine trees are a main contributor to a healthy ecosystem for wildlife.  Losing them will make people sad for sure.
