Rules for addition/(subtraction) of fractions.

#1 Convert to improper(top heavy ) fractions ; not applicable in this case.

#2 Bring to a common denominator ; 3 x 8 = 24 in this case.

#3 Bring the numerators to the equivalent values over '24'. (2 x 8 = 16) & ( 4 x 3 = 12)

#4 Add/(subtract) the numerators.

#5 Convert to a mixed fraction.

Hence

#1 Not applicable in this case.

#2 3 x 8 = 24

#3 2 x 8 / 24 & 4 x 3 /24 = 16/24 + 12/24

#4 (16 + 12) / 24 = 28 /24

#5 1 4/24 , which cancels down to 1 1/6 ; The answer !!!!.

I get 7/6. Easiest way is to convert both fractions into twelfths and add the numerators (8+6=14 so 14/12), then simplify.

Sooo, make the denominators the same. 2/3 becomes 16/24 (multiplied by 8) and 4/8 becomes 12/24 (multiplied by 3) and then add them together that way so it becomes 26/24 which you can simplify to 13/12 or put it as a mixed number which is 1 and 1/12
