How can anyone say any QB in this year's draft is better than Sam Darnold?

Sam Darnold has proven he can be great in this league.

Darnold has not been consistent in his game. Personally I like him and think with the right coach, that could be worked on.  But only time will tell if he is able to grow like I believe he should, or not.

Sam Darnold hasn't proven anything yet, but that isn't all his fault since he had little to work with and poor coaching with the Jets. He has shown some flashes of his potential. All the players in the draft are just speculation until they actually get to play in the NFL. About half won't meet expectations.

while Daronold is good and can be very good if the jets were run by competent adults the top 3 QB's this year are better then him Sam's biggest problem is his lacks of confidence you have to be a leader of men his talent is fine but untill he matures and he very well might he will bounce around from team to team .

Darnold likely has been completely ruined by Adam Gase, but there are alot of people watching the Jets who say that he can't read a defense.  If the Jets trade him this year to start over (they shouldn't, they should build their team first), Darnold would be lucky to fetch a 3rd rounder in exchange.

I disagree. Sam Darnold was probably the worst quarterback in the NFL during the 2020 season, and has never proven to be even an average quarterback at any time during his NFL career. Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields would be an upgrade over Darnold.

Jets would be dumb to trade Sam. He'll only cost $9M next season so they can draft JaMarr Chase, RB and OL to see if he can improve. If he doesn't, they can draft a QB next season.

Darnold plays in the NFL and the guys in the draft don't. Right now there should be no question Darnold is better than all of them. However, that's not why players get drafted. Players get drafted because of their potential not their current ability.
