The doctor prescribes amoxicillin at a daily dose of 21 mg per kg of body weight, to be given in 2 oral doses 12 hours apart?

If the medication is supplied as a solution that contains 250. mg of amoxicillin per 5.0 mL of liquid, how many milliliters should be administered each time? The patient weighs 65 kg.

    (21 mg/kg/24 hrs) x (12 hrs) x (65 kg) / (250. mg / 5.0 mL) = 13.65 mL per 12 hrs
