Is it right that public sector workers in Australia are paid 30% more than the private sector?

The government are taking taxes from private citizens and paying themselves way above market rates. Corruption? They set the budgets and are constantly giving themselves pay rises with your money.

Update:

Aussie: Politicians are just a small fraction of public sector workers. There are well over 2 million in total, or about 20% of the workforce.

Update 2:

Anon: Wrong. Public sector pay is 28.6% higher. https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/labour/earnings-...

Not only are public sector workers overpaid but they are so inept that they have to hire private sector consultants to do their job for them

Figures slightly inflated by you as correct figure 22.4% more than the private sector. It working model for Australia because of the relative economic isolation even with China flexing it's ever present trade muscle. Actually 15.3% of the workforce factoring in Centrelink, health, and super annuation entitlements.

There's nothing worse than a government monopoly. At least if it's in the private sector, the government can step in.
