Because he was retaliating for a missile strike against our people in the region. Iran, thru their Syrian terrorist pals hit us again, and Joe hit them back. Serves them right. Only too bad he couldn't have killed more of them.

Some people, not just Trump-Republicans, have very short memories. He had to act quickly to tell Iran that you don't use buildings in Syria to attack US citizens in Iraq. In other words, "nobody assails me with impunity" or "don't tread on me".

It's the American logic, let's stay in the middle east for as long as possible and if they attack us, we attack them back....

Sometimes he tries to look like a strong man.   So he lobs a bomb somewhere and then "doctor" Jill helps him walk from the war room to the car on those old unsteady legs.

That was the lesser of all of the options available to Trump.  The democrats got caught flat-footed because 2 days earlier, they were sucking up to Iran.  Like lifted all of the sanctions that Trump had on them.  So, Iran is staking out its position, and Biden is countering with his offer.  He now knows that being nice won't work. So being a little bit mean was his next option.  This will give him a few weeks to surrender and withdraw and let Iran win.

He only authorised attacking specific targets, on military advice.
