Why do people use cognitive behavioral therapy with paraphilias?

A cognitive behavioral therapy is specifically designed to eliminate deviant arousal patterns.

But it's already been proven that you can't eliminate arousal patterns.

And attempting to change what you're sexually turned on by is conversion therapy so why do they use it if it doesn't work?

Update:

1.) Paraphilias are unhealthy sexual orientations every single person who treats them calls them this.

2.) I'm asking why people use cognitive behavioral therapy to remove attractions when they know it doesn't work they know you can't remove attractions.

Why are they using something they know doesn't work?

    TL:DR,

It has been proven thanks to homosexuals that you cannot remove and arousal pattern.

So why are people still using cognitive behavioral therapy a form of conversion therapy to attempt to eliminate arousal patterns in paraphilias if we know that you cannot remove arousal patterns?

Using a treatment we know doesn't work is medical malpractice.
