Ted seems to be on some wanton path of self destruction. 

He's doubling down on trying to be the new Trump for 2024, and counting on that section of brain dead morons that stormed the capitol  , into backing him. 

If Texans re-elect that moron.......then forget seceding.....*we* should just build a fence, make sure TEXAS is on the other side of it.

He's playing up to his specific audience, knowing that they largely don't believe in science.  So while it's incredibly stupid he's unlikely to lose any support from those on the right.
