If a battery has an internal resistance of r=1.25Ω and delivers a current of 2A to an external circuit, what is the power dissipated in the battery? Give your answer with an appropriate unit.

    Pib = r*I^2 = 1.25*2^2 = 1.25*4 = 5.0 watt

    The internal resistance acts in just the same way as an external resistance.  Power dissipated = I²R = 2² * 1.25 = 5W
