When the Constitution said all men are created equal, did they take people of color and women into account?

    Actually, it's not the Constitution that says that. It's the Declaration of Independence which is, itself not law. The issue equality was side-stepped as so to pass the Constitution in the first place. The South was intransigent to slavery, much less equal rights. The alternative could have been a splitting of the country right there in 1787. The existing Articles of Confederation was too weak of a system to run the country.

    The constitution wasn't  caring about color, as you must.. they said men because that was the way it was addressed back then.. it meant all people!

    That is why the USA has Riots white American still believe the Constitution written by Racists American white Politicians still don't see the African American as Equal

    the words all MEN are created Equal they for got to put in all White men are created equal

    the constitution needs changing to we are all created equal
