It is sports entertainment. The matches are not legitimate and have a pre determined ending. That being said the wrestlers the promoters the referee all know who will be declared the winner before the match begins. The audience the crowd and the fans do not know. I believe the term fake is wrong and bad terminology. It is like going to see a show. However it is dangerous and risky. Think about this even though it is scripted letting someone pick you up throw you around and abuse your body. You must have much trust in the opponent because if they drop you wrong you could be an invalid i.e. Stan Hansen-Bruno Sammartino April 1976 . When situations like this happen they are totally accidental and not intentional. You know these guys wrestling over 300 days out of the year and travel not only the country but the world. That can take a big toll on your physical and mental well being. It is not a glamorous life. Also after a match the participants must be sore and just think they have to do it again most likely the next night in another location. The recovery time is very short. I can see why many get addicted to drugs the travel the pain the loneliness.

Professional wrestling is show the moves are real and people do get injured. They are not trying to hurt each other. They are putting on a performance. UFC is people hurting each other to win a match. If you you want to make wrestling more real have two scripted ending and have a friendly shoot the ref will call the winner and they would do that ending
As in other professional wrestling promotions, WWE shows are not legitimate contests, but purely entertainment-based performance theater, featuring storyline-driven, scripted, and partially choreographed matches, though matches often include moves that can put performers at risk of injury, even death, if not performed ...Source(s): https://iqos-heets.ae/

In the older days when the Von Ericks were wrestling they used to have a blade to cut themselves to make it more real. These days it's more about bad acting than it is wrestling.

It's scripted entertainment like movies and most of the wrestling moves are done safely without hurting but wrestlers do take legitimate bumps to make it look as authentic as possible.

It's real dude. Have you not heard it's completely 100% real. And did you know the Spiderman movies are not movies but documentaries using real footage. Toy story is another documentary they pass off as a film. Incredible no one has twigged that all this entertainment is actually real

REAL in that it is choreographed, planned outcome, written as a script. FAKE as a sport, if an unpredicted outcome is possible.
Enjoy it as the entertainment it is.
