Which is true, Islam or Christianity?

Both claim to follow the God of the Old Testament. Was Jesus actually God in the flesh sent to all mankind, or was he only a prophet and Messiah for the Israelites? Also, there’s a concept of original sin in Christianity and salvation is reached through accepting Jesus’s sacrifice, but this doesn’t exist in Islam because according to the Quran God forgave Adam and Eve for their transgression...

Neither.  All religions are merely assumed conclusions based on suspect claims from dubious sources supported by logical fallacies nested within circular reasoning bringing you back to the assumed conclusion.  It is dishonest to assert as fact that which is not evidently true.  Yet that is what religion does.  It tries very hard to assert as fact things that we already know are not true or even possible.  Any claim that you make, you must be able to actually demonstrate the truth of it, otherwise, that's all you have..... a claim.  Any claim submitted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.  If you can't show it, then, you most certainly don't know it.  And of course religion always makes the claim to 'know' things that nobody could know.  By definition magic, the supernatural and deities cannot exist.  If you claim your deity exists outside of time and space, then by definition, your deity does not exist.  Prove me wrong by producing a deity..... ANY deity.

There is truth in Islam.  There is truth in some of Christianity.  If you want everything that God gives his children today, come to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Your very question reveals the difficulty you present yourself with. Both systems have arisen to satisfy the same need: the need to believe that your death will not be total because that is too scary a fact to live with.  They arose in different cultures so the details differ.  Both have a book they believe was inspired by a deity and both give their adherents the chance to feel superior to someone else.  They get to ask "How could those people be stupid enough to believe that?"

Jesus clearly demonstrated that He was God, by constantly doing things only God could do. Mohammed didn't, because he couldn't, being just an ordinary human being. Yes, extraordinary in some ways, but still just human.

Islam claims to follow the Old Testament and it claims that Christians are people of the book, and that the Bible is true, yet there are far too many contradictions

In Islam of Christianity, so Islam is self contradictory and is thus not true.

Neither one of them can make a cogent case for why their religion is true and other religions are false.  In fact, they use the same 'evidence' (personal faith, their holy books, miracle claims) to make the case for their beliefs that the other religions - that they call false - use to make their cases as well.  And, that is beyond their overall failure to even prove God exists in any form, let alone the form they claim.

No one but Christ ever made a claim this bold....

John 14:6 KJV — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

So thats who gets all our faith.

Neither is or isn't true; they're just variant religions. It's a matter of belief, not proof
