Why do so many streaming apps make you sign in with a tv provider instead of just charge a monthly fee.?

Updated 3 days ago:

Marvinator If all apps charged a monthly fee instead of requiring you to sign in with a tv provider you wouldnt have to be charged twice.

because you could then cut the cord and just sign up for apps and pay a monthly fee instead of signing in with a tv provider.

Its a conspiracy among apps and tv providers in the most corrupt country in the world.

It's to keep the cable providers happy. The apps amount to competition for their TV service which they're paying license fees, and use their network to do it, so they want a cut.
