How did humans become the top of the food chain if we are so weak and slow?

We cannot fight other apes nor predators. Was it due to our reproduction abilities?

Nothing to do with strength and speed.  Everything to do with brain power to build weapons and kill anything any place any time.  All of the brain part came from Mrs. Caveman and all of the killing part came from Mr. Caveman.

We invented weapons using our unsurpassed intelligence. Our brain is also our weapon. We figure how to hunt bigger animals and faster ones using a strategy called persistence hunting. Wolves use a similar strategy. We basically follow prey around, scare them into sprinting repeatedly. When they become overheated and/or exhausted because of lactic acid buildup, they collapse and become unable to move, and we can then kill them. We have also invented weapons like spears, bows and arrows, and even firearms so we can hunt animals as large as a mammoth and a whale.

Not even our reproductive abilities! Apes and lions reproduce faster!

No, it is our brains and adaptability.  Our ability to make our own weapons, heating devices, warm shelters, warm clothing, and even to breed plants and animals for food.

We have the intelligence to observe the other species, identify their habits and weaknesses and use that knowledge to dominate them in spite of our relatively frail bodies and prevent ourselves from becoming victims to their hunting and defensive tactics. We are capable of designing lethal weapons which are effective at much longer ranges than teeth and claws. We can bring down prey and kill potential attackers from 100's of meters in safety. We can change the environment for our benefit. We are the most powerful species on the planet because of our minds.

We didn't. There is no "top".  Sure, we kill a lot of other species for food and clothing, but many of us fall prey to viruses and bacteria, and some to predators like tigers, snakes, scorpions...

Scientists talk about "food-web" rather than "food-chain" nowadays

Because we do not hunt and/or kill other animals directly. We use weapons. We can then be a safe distance from an animal and kill it.

Rabbits have great reproduction abilities, and they're not on the top of the food chain.

Humans are on top because we're meaner, badder, and hold a grudge longer. If a tiger ate grandpa, we gang together and hunt tigers for the next 100 years. But when a human kills a tiger, the other tigers forget about it by the next year.

Smarts. We out smart other animals, make weapons to hunt with, make traps and snares etc.

All creatures can reproduce. We created weapons. Cave people created spears, devices to fling rocks, then knives and bows and arrows. Humans created the ability to kill at a distance. Something animals cannot do.
