    Yes. In fact, the Catholic Church had liturgy to celebrate the joining of two men in marriage from the 9th through the 12th centuries.

    Yes. Since the dawn of time.

    Attitudes have changed throughout the ages. I don't think they had a name for it during the Middle ages. It was kept quiet.

    On the other hand the ancient Greeks encouraged it. They viewed a man as weak if he was with a woman except to procreate.

    Oh yes, but it could carry very harsh penalties, so people tended to keep it secret
