Can I fry sliced potatoes in a Presto electric skillet.. at what temperature ?

    Those would be cottage fries whether electric skillet or stovetop. You can speed up the process and get well done potatoes (which I like) by microwaving the cut potato pieces for a couple of minutes first.

    You can fry them very well in a skillet. Just put the heat on roughly medium high, and fry them as if you were doing it on the stove. Watch to make sure the potatoes don't burn, and flip them over to brown evenly on both sides. If your skillet is not non-stick, use a bit of oil, but if it is teflon, then skip the oil. The pototoes will cook just fine and you won't be getting unneccesary calories.

    Deep frying is usually at 325-350 degrees. BUT, use a jelly thermometer to test the  oil, else you may have to repaint the kitchen when placing the potatoes in it.
