Cleaning up the north Pacific ?

Why don't Joe Biden Invest in a fleet of 50 cargo ships and giant nets..

And pick up the trash from the North Pacific ocean..

And 100 Tanker ships equipped with industrial water filters and and upsized, giant pur water filtration system..

That takes in polluted water, filters the water and cleans the water...

And dumps the clean water back into the ocean.

Beginning the cleaning process immediately... And over time, within a few years..

I think China should head a taskforce to do that. After all, most of the stuff that winds up in the oceans from the States originate in China! The States are their biggest exports.

Ocean currents carry seawater across the globe. Cleaning up one tiny speck of the world's oceans isn't going to drastically reduce pollution.

The Ocean Cleanup is a nonprofit engineering environmental organization based in the Netherlands. The organization conducts scientific research into oceanic plastic pollution. Their ocean system consists of a floating barrier at the surface of the water in the oceanic gyres, that collects marine debris as the system is pushed by wind, waves and current, and slowed down by a sea anchor. The project aims to launch a total of 60 such systems, and they predict this capability could clean up 50% of the debris in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in five years from full scale deployment.

Explain why that is up to Biden, the trash in the oceans is from all countries not just the US.

And if he did do that, the nutters that think Trump won would scream bloody murder over the waste of taxpayer dollars.

Andrew, if you personally would pay for just one of those ships, you might be able to get Bill Gates and some of your other friends to fund the rest of them.

    1. he has more important things to spend money on.

    2. it would take more than 500 ships

    3. that is international water, outside of his authority

but I agree, each major country should put a small fleet, say a few ships, to work. It would be a start.
