Let F = acres in field

14 = 0.7*F so 14/0.7 = 140/7 = 20 = F

20 - 14 = 6 acres to disk

70% = 0.7

The first day he disks 14 acres, which is 70% of the field

0.7x = 14

Divide both sides by 0.7

x = 20

Remaining = 30% of x

R = 0.3x

R = 0.3(20)

R = 6

6 acres <––––––
