Subwoofers in small box?

Would 2 subs in one box be better than cramming 3 in one box.  The air space is too small already for 3. Would just 2 be smarter?

There is not enough perspective presented in this question. "Cramming" suggests the box for 2 speakers already is too small to be efficient, so adding another speaker obviously is hampering efficiency. However, there are designs for multiple speakers  that enhance efficiency. One thing is for sure though, a baffle of any description is better than no baffle. Instead of arguing with a concept presented as a mistake, study different cabinet designs. Lookit: https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/car-subwoofer-b...

  • What would be "smarter" is having it in the proper box. It won't sound all that great in a poor quality enclosure and you will be depressed with your system. A good ported box will get louder
