Biden may bar Trump from intel briefings, fearing he ‘might slip and say something’– Is this ethically his call given his hatred of Trump?  ?

I know the law gives a President the right to do almost anything. That said, Biden’s own words, especially in the last year or so, prove he has a level of animus toward Trump some would term emotional hatred. Half the country does too. That doesn’t change the fact that Trump has had some significant military achievements. Many bad-mouth his bromance with N. Korea’s Kim, but relations between the two countries are as good or better than they’ve been for seventy years. And, ordering the drone strike on Iran’s General Soleimani got good reviews from most Americans. So too, did targeting a Syrian air field with 59 cruise missiles result in Syria stopping the use of poison gas on civilians. Precedence has allowed other past Presidents continued briefings because their experience and insight is thought potentially beneficial to national defense. Biden’s pretense to deny briefings seems petty and may well reflect personal bias rather than concern for the safety of the nation. Frankly, I think the Joint Chiefs are in a better position to make the call on this matter and they haven’t raise any concerns to this point.

    "might slip and say something"

By that logic no former president should get briefings.

No one in power, including the generals, want that insurrectionist traitor to be handed intel reports so he can pass them along to his dictator friends. He’s got a dangerously big mouth and loves to cause trouble. We’ve got enough of his mess to clean up without inviting more trouble from Il Duce.

It's Biden's call. Tradition is for the incumbent to allow his predecessor access to briefings, but Trump threw most presidential traditions out the window. He can't complain now.

Actually, I think like most people he's really afraid he'll try to sell secrets to the highest bidder, and he's just trying to be polite and not say so in public.
