It's worth it if a game on Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG has controller support. I played such causal games in Metal Slug, Galaga, Atari Vault, Goat Simulator, Sonic Mania, and Undertale on Steam and they played better on the PC on a controller than a keyboard and a mouse. such simulation games like Two Point Hospital, The entire Sims franchise, PC Building Simulator, and Planet Coaster are best played on a keyboard and mouse than a controller. Make sure it's a wired controller similar to a Xbox controller that feels right or a wireless controller if you have bluetooth or have a wireless adapter to the controller on your computer.
It would not worth it if you actually play games that either partial or no controller support on the PC.

If you can afford it, why not! Live your life a little. Don’t be too frugal, unless you’re saving for something better.
