What do you mean?
Thorium is the name we give to all atoms with exactly 90 protons in their nucleus. No more, no less.
If you're asking... "what's the state of a SAMPLE of thorium atoms", then I'd have to say... "probably solid, liquid, or gas depending on the pressure and temperature".If you're asking... "what's the state of a SAMPLE of thorium atoms at STP?". the answer is "solid'If you're asking... "what's state is naturally occurring thorium found in on Earth".. I'd have to say... "as a +4 oxide in several minerals". etc

It is a solid metal that oxides quickly in air to a black solid.
