Can I upload my own cover of songs by artists to Tik Tok?

Question

I'm confused on the guidelines. Can I sing a song like Rihanna song on guitar ? Or will I get banned for copyright. My friend got video took down from singing song by proclaimers for copyright so I don't know why that is. Some are able to sing covers without being copyrighted. The boundries seem iffy to me

If they don't have the actual song playing in the background, it won't be taken down from content ID measures. So use a wired or Bluetooth headset so this does not happen.
