What do you reply when someone says "greetings" by message?

Hope it's not from the Draft Board.

You young'uns wouldn't know what this is all about. When there was a military draft, the letter from the Draft Board informing you that you were drafted began, "Greetings". Of course, it wasn't a greeting in the true sense of the word.
