Why do Libs think lying is not free speech?

They refuse to accept that the Supreme Court has said that hate speech is wrong. Offensive and hateful speech is as protected as any other. It is vital to protect ALL speech, for the road of prohibiting speech one disagrees with is a slippery one. There is a right to offend; deal with it. 6/21/2017 www.huff post.com/entry/1a-victory-scotus-again

On the contrary, it's as free as can be. Who would pay for a lie?

It depends who is lying, under what circumstances and what outcome. Trump recommending drinking bleach to cure a virus compared with your doctor doing it, say.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of the consequences of that speech.
Thegovernment can’t prohibit you from free and rational discourse but speech that incites violence or immediate panic such as yelling fire in a crowded theater or inciting a riot is not protected speech and this has long been held by the United States Supreme Court.

Depending on context and impact lying can be prosecuted. An insignificant person like you is unlikely to face any penalties unless you lie to cause a panic and endanger others. Oh, I forgot. Many conservatives like anti-maskers think the Constitution gives them the right to endanger other people.
