Should you always eat when your hungry ?

I’m feeling hungry right now but Dr. Fung says you lose more weight if you skip breakfast

    It's actually a bad idea to skip breakfast. It can lead to fluctuating glucose levels and "bad" cholesterol which can increase the risk of heart disease and Type II Diabetes.

    You're better off eating a high fiber and high protein breakfast, eating sensible snacks, have oily fish and veggies for lunch, and a complete well-rounded dinner.

    You can lose weight and still eat when you're hungry. For example, instead of eating a donut, eat some nuts and fruit (same calories but added nutrition).

    And more importantly, if you are seeking a calorie deficit, those meals should be full of nutrition and not junk food.

    No, but you should eat breakfast and skipp dinner. DO NOT EAT WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY

    No. If you are overweight, you don't need to eat immediately.  Drink some water or tea or coffee.  Dr. Fung (Jason Fung) doesn't say not to eat breakfast. He believes in the power of intermittent fasting as a way to address insulin resistance and promote weight loss.  Most people fast from after dinner through the night and until some time the next day.     It is impossible for your body to release and burns stored fat if your provide your body with fuel from food or beverages.  This is particularly true of carbohydrates.  Your body will always burn fuel from food first. Carbs also require insulin, which turns off your body's ability to burn fat until all the blood glucose is either used by your cells or converted to fat and stored.  

    People who are used to eating 3 meals and a few snacks every day will be hungry when they start fasting.  People who continue to eat lots of carbs and processed foods will continue to have difficulty fasting.  As you learn to eat foods that provide your body with the necessary nutrients and not flood your blood with sugar, you'll be less hungry and will find fasting easier.
