What does nitroglycerin react with? what would the equation be? The type of reaction? (single replacement, synthesis etc etc)?

    When nitroglycerin explodes it does not react with anything. 

    Its reaction is a decompostion:

    4 C3H5N3O9 → 6 N2 + 10 H2O + 12 CO + 7 O2

    or

    4 C3H5N3O9 → 6 N2 + 10 H2O + 12 CO2 +  O2
