Every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.

If you have eye strain or dry eye, every fifteen or ten minutes is better, but not as catchy.

electric monitors give off blue light which is bad for you , you can either rest your eyes  for 10 minutes every hour of buy glasses that filter out blue light .seems to happen more with lap tops and lcd monitors .

I believe there is a 20 rule which goes something like this:

After 20 minutes look away for 20 seconds at something 20 metres away.

I've never heard anybody say.   I suppose when you sleep all night, your eyes get enough rest.
