To a 5-year-old, yes.  To a 50-year-old, 18 is still a baby.  In other words, it's how you think.  Of course, in a numbers game, it's very young, bearing in mind there's about 70 years of life left, in which so much can be accomplished and enjoyed.  And no, you are never to feel worthless, ever !

I'm in my 60s and I still don't feel old.

Talk to someone.  Do something worthwhile.  Take up a new hobby.  Help someone else.  Make yourself feel better!
