ADT home alarm system?

the alarm system in my house says "cellular failure" i dont believe it said that when i moved in 

what does it mean?

Usually, there is a landline connection from the alarm panel to the monitoring office. If the landline is gone, then the cellular back-up is needed. Some times, the cellular connection is the only connection).

When the alarm is armed, it needs to know to contact the monitoring office when al alarm is triggered. If the cellular connection is not available, the alert can't be sent and the monitoring office has no idea something happened.

We don't know when you moved in. It is likely the last people who lived there paid the monthly fee. If you haven't transferred the subscription to your own account, that cellular service won't be paid...
