What is the name of this movie/TV series?

Question

There was a show i tried to watch that came on at night in the 90's.  It starts with a plane crash and the survivors try and survive on a strange island.  It's not lost, danger island, or any of the more recent use of this plot.  The main thing that stands out in my memory is that one of the female passengers is an opera singer. Is there anybody that can solve this mystery for me?

It is a series called Amazon.I've watched it a few times.Quite good.It's not on an island.
