Why is it so weird with this guy. Go guys ghost/ cancel because they get scared? ?

I like this guy we have hooked up in the past

We are on and off 

He knows I like him and I want a relationship 

He seems to want only sex 

We make plans to meet up 

But when the time comes he ends up cancelling or even lately i end up canceling on him 

Why is this? 

I cancel because I’m nervous to meet him. I don’t want it to be about just sex and my feelings just for haywire 

Why does he cancel? He’s canceled on me several time sand we fight because of this 

But sometimes I feel like he cancels or ghosts because he is also really nervous and scared 

He knows I want something really serious like marriage 

Does that scare him? 

Or is it just a sign he isn’t interested?

Bet if he was being honest he'd say it's getting to where the sex isn't worth the constant talk about the relationship you want but he clearly doesn't want.
