Hey, it’s politically incorrect of you to acknowledge insurrection, terrorism or rioting caused by groups viewed as liberal.   Here in America we only acknowledge the small fraction of rioting caused by conservatives.    Get with the program.

Homeless people have been living in tents on the lawns of City Hall since November 2020. Protesters and advocates for people staying in a temporary tent encampment created a human barrier and later broke into and entered City Hall in order to stop Bellingham officials from attempting to clean up the site Friday morning.  Why do you assume they are leftists?

However it is a serious social problem.  Jailing them would cost 36,000 a year, more then what a house would cost.  And with a criminal record, they would be even less likely to get work and are unlikely to afford housing.

What solutions, if any, do you propose?

Yes.  It was an insurrection against the city of Bellingham Washington (population 88,764), just as when rightist criminals broke into the Capitol, it was an insurrection against the entire United States of America (population 328,529,323).
