Can someone help a beginner in calculus?

The concept of a limit is very important in Calculus. 

(a) In your own words what is the concept of a limit.(b) Give an example (not necessarily mathematical in nature) of a limit. This can be a physical example or a math problem.(c) Finding the slope of a curve is different from finding the slope of a line. Explain why a limit is needed.

This is not really a math question. its more of a question of definition, or reading skills. Ask google or wiki for the relevant documentation. Read it.
